Wow! I just got back 100% on my grade 11 biology research project using a magnetic pulsing unit. As an adult Bio-11 student, I devised a research project where I grew five petri dishes of non-identified bacteria. With the magnetic pulsing unit three inches above the dish, I pulsed dish #1 for 15 minutes daily and dish #2 for five minutes daily. Another three dishes of bacteria were used as the control group. The number and size of colonies were measured and noted daily for the duration of the ten day experiment. I used only the marked bio-north side of the hand paddle, and the temperature was kept at a controlled 28 to 30 degrees Celsius.
After only one exposure, dish #1 bacteria stopped multiplying and growing. Dish #2 bacteria continued to grow for five days, but at a measurably slower rate than the control dishes. Control dishes #3 & #4 stopped growing at seven days (this was observed to be because colony numbers increased so much there was no food left to allow for further growth), and control dish #5 with one colony kept growing for the duration of the experiment.
I concluded for myself that pulsed magnetic fields may have a neutralizing effect on some bacteria.
