I'm a pastor and missionary based in Taiwan, often traveling to neighboring countries to spread hope and faith.
My life has been one of service, but early this January, while on a mission in the Philippines, I faced a trial I never saw coming - a tick bite that turned into Lyme disease. What could've been a devastating ordeal became a testament to resilience, faith, and a remarkable device I've trusted for 20 years: wrist pulsing.
It started innocently enough. Where I was staying, there were dogs everywhere - 30 to 50, I d guess. One day, I noticed a bite on my shin. It s just a mosquito bite I thought, though it hurt more than usual. I didn't realize it was a tick.
By the third day, my leg looked bad. I took pictures, and it was alarming - swollen, angry, and unlike anything I'd seen before. I went to the hospital, but the doctor didn't seem too concerned. The next day, it was worse - really swollen up. It looked terrible.
That night, I started running a fever. I've used wrist pulsing for years to knock out colds, so I strapped it on all night until the battery ran out and let it do its work. By morning, the fever was gone. I thought, Maybe I just caught a cold.
I felt symptoms creeping in again, so I kept the wrist pulser on all day while I was awake, just to make sure the bacteria were truly gone. I don't use the wrist pulser often due to a mild skin reaction, but I always carry it when I travel - just in case. And in this case, I believe it made all the difference.
A Tick Bite Turns Critical
But the next night, the fever returned, and I knew this wasn't a cold. This usually doesn't happen, I told myself. Normally, when I catch a cold, I put on the wrist pulser, and the fever's gone in an hour or two. This was different.
I went to the emergency room in the Philippines, and they diagnosed cellulitis from the tick bite. The doctors started asking about Lyme disease symptoms. I'd done my research and realized that s what I had. But what puzzled them was how quickly my symptoms - fever, pain, swelling - were fading.
I had them all, but they were all gone in a matter of one or two days, I explained. They noticed the wrist pulsing device on my wrist and asked, What's this about? I told them how it s been a game-changer for me, and they were curious.
I knew how serious Lyme disease could be. But thank God, wrist pulsing made a difference.
The medical care in the Philippines wasn't what I needed for something this serious. So, I struggled to get an airplane ticket back to Taiwan.
As soon as I landed, I was rushed to the hospital and hospitalized for five days. They put me on special antibiotics, and I continued wrist pulsing.
Miraculous Turnaround Stuns Friend
The progress was astonishing. A friend who'd had cellulitis was shocked at how fast I recovered. For others, it takes two to three months to have their wound healed, he told me. But you, it's just a total of 10 days, from beginning to the end.
I'm no stranger to wrist pulsing. I found it 20 years ago, right after SARS hit. A relative fled Taiwan for California, terrified of the virus. Your lungs get crystallized, and you could die, he said.
That sent me searching, How do I kill viruses in my body? That's when I discovered wrist pulsing and Dr. Bob Beck's work. Since then, it's been my go-to.
Whenever I catch a cold early, I take vitamin C, zinc, drink colloidal silver water, put on a blanket, and use wrist pulsing. In about an hour, I sweat, and then all the symptoms are gone. I've found if I'm lazy and don't use it right away, it might take longer, but the fever always vanishes quickly.
Inspiring Others with a Life-Saving Discovery
This experience in the Philippines left me feeling almost guilty for not sharing the impact of wrist pulsing sooner. I started telling everyone - my church, my ministry members, anyone who'd listen - about my journey. Now, many of them are getting their own wrist pulsing devices because of my story.
Today, I'm fully recovered, with only a small scar on my leg to prove I had a tick bite. No side effects whatsoever, I can say with gratitude.
I used the antibiotics the doctors prescribed, but nothing else beyond wrist pulsing. It's remarkable how, when we give our body what it needs, it thrives. God didn't create us imperfectly. I believe, if we just get out of the way and let our body heal, it's amazing what it can do.
I'm so grateful for Dr. Bob Beck's invention, and for a company that's been selling this technology, for nearly 30 years. You probably saved my life or my leg, I told them. At the very least my leg.
I'm an advocate for my health, and I'll keep sharing this story, because it s not just about surviving - it's about thriving.
