Answers to Your Questions

Is it necessary to use all three units of the Beck Protocol?

No. You can use one or all of the Beck units. Keep in mind, the three units support and complement each other; this was how Bob planned it. For example, micropulsing with the blood electrifier, since it cleans the blood that circulates throughout the body, has the most overall effect. Bob realized there was a need for something to address more specific areas like the lymph and other harder-to-reach places, so he invented the magnetic pulser. He then recognized the need to flush out the toxins released by micropulsing and magnetic pulsing - and came up with a unit that ozonated drinking water. All three units work hand-in-hand in supporting the body to heal itself.

The Beck units also function independently, so if budget dictates or you're inclined to start with one unit, we recommend the blood electrifier/micropulsing unit. Most people start with this unit and add in other units as they can.

Whether you start with one, two, or three units - the point is you are starting. You're moving forward and taking your power back. Even more, you're giving your body the tools it needs to heal and attain the state of health you're meant to have.

Do the micropulsing unit and the magnetic pulse generator have the same purpose?

You're absolutely right - they both generate microcurrents - but in different ways. When you're micropulsing, the microcurrents of electricity are cleansing the blood as it circulates past the electrodes. Gradually, all the blood coursing through your veins and arteries will have passed the electrodes on your wrist allowing you to receive the benefits of micropulsing. But what about areas that aren't exposed to blood through micropulsing?

The magnetic pulser generator takes care of this. Using the hand paddle, you can target specific areas, like bones or joints; lymph nodes; even spinal fluid. Between the two units, you're covered.

Is the micropulsing unit more important than using the magnetic pulse generator?

The micropulsing unit is the heart of the Bob Beck Protocol as cleansing the blood is a building block to setting up your body for healing. Each unit serves an important purpose, but if you are not planning to use the full Protocol, micropulsing is a great place to start. However, if the problem is a specific area of the body, the magnetic pulser may be a better first option.

What diseases does the Beck Protocol cure?

Actually, your body is curing and healing itself. The Beck units are tools that assist and enable that healing to move forward.

The best source for specific examples is to hear from fellow readers who have reached out and shared their personal stories and experiences. These stories are sincere, funny, dramatic, inspiring...and very, truly human. To make it easier, we've set up the Testimonials page so you can search by unit or by the name of the issue you're interested in.

Can children or pets use the Beck units?

Children and pets can use the Beck units. Even though they are younger and smaller, their bodies are still electrically-based just as an adult human is, and they can experience benefit, too. Keep in mind the instructions were originally developed for adults and may need to be adjusted for the smaller body of a child or pet. You may also want to review our Testimonials for stories from our readers about their experiences using the Beck units with children and pets.

Something to keep in mind, is that a child's immune system in the early years is learning and growing and so it is important for a child to be exposed to things in order to allow the immune system to build and become strong, something that we benefit from for the rest of our lives. However, it is equally important to understand that the time we are living in is unprecedented in terms of the number of chemicals we are exposed to, as well as viruses that are becoming more and more virulent - this combination is a huge hit to our immune systems. On the one hand, needing to allow a child's immune system to gain experience and on the other hand needing to make a call as to whether something they are experiencing is powerful enough that the immune system is struggling is a decision only a parent can make.

Can I use all the Beck units at the same time?

Yes! It's really a matter of what you decide you prefer, what's most effective for you, and what works for your schedule. As examples, some people like using micropulsing/blood electrification and pulsed magnetic fields simultaneously - they feel it's a much more efficient use of time. Others prefer micropulsing during the day and magnetic pulsing in the evening.

Our best advice - experiment to see what works for you and make adjustments as you go. Ultimately, the best choice for you is whatever works for you so that you can use the units regularly.

Please remember to drink lots of water (ozonated water is a great idea before and after micropulsing and magnetic pulsing!) to flush those toxins out of the body.

If you haven't already, be sure to see the Guide to Using the Beck Protocol.

Can I combine the Beck Protocol with other protocols?

Our experience is the Beck Protocol seems to work well in combination with other natural protocols such as healthy nutritional changes, supplements, herbs, etc. Something to keep in mind - if beginning several new things simultaneously, it may be hard to determine what's working just right or what needs adjusting. Every new protocol - even something as seemingly gentle as changing one's diet - has the potential for triggering detoxification. The main thing - as always - educate yourself and continue to be observant so you can feel confident about the path you are taking.

How can the Beck Protocol be beneficial? I've heard electricity can be harmful.

Exposure to - for example - high voltage transformers and power lines that deliver electricity to our homes can have harmful effects because it is very intense and disruptive to the body. On the other hand, the Beck Protocol gives us electricity in the microcurrent range. This is very gentle and bio-compatible to the body. For example, Bob reported the output of the micropulsing unit was in the same range as a heart pacemaker. The Beck units are designed to work with the body's natural electricity to allow the body to heal itself.

What is the difference between "dirty" electricity and "therapeutic" electricity?

"Dirty" electricity refers to high voltage power lines, transformers, microwaves, and some radio waves. Dirty electricity sources are disruptive by nature and can have cumulative, harmful effects on the body.

"Therapeutic" electricity, on the other hand, is safe to use because our bodies are primarily electrical in nature. Therapeutic applications encompass biocompatible electricity that we can live with in harmony. The Beck units use biocompatible frequencies.

Digging Deeper: Check the work by Dr. Magda Havas, a Canadian expert in the field who is respected internationally. Many of her presentations on the effects of dirty electricity and the benefits of biocompatible electricity can be found on YouTube.

Can everyone use therapeutic electricty?

The majority of people experience benefits from the use of therapeutic electricity.

In rare cases, some individuals who are electrically sensitive, may react to electrical and/or magnetic energies. Generally, these people are already aware of their sensitivities as they react to many types of electrical apparatus.

I am electrically sensitive. Can I use the Beck Protocol?

You will probably be just fine using colloidal silver and ozonated water - as long as you are able to be around items like kitchen appliances. The micropulsing and magnetic pulsing may be too much for you depending on how electrically sensitive you are.

If you do want to try them, we suggest starting out slowly with one unit, being patient and observing how your body responds step-by-step.

How often should I apply micropulsing? Can I use the unit for more than two hours a day?

Bob originally suggested 2 hours per day as a guideline. However, many individuals regularly micropulse for several hours a day; some even up to 24-hours straight. Of course you'll need to check that the cotton covers remain adequately moistened throughout any period of micropulsing so the current is flowing properly. And watch for detoxification reactions (also known as Herxheimer Reaction), which can be triggered by the release of pathogens. As long as these waste products are being eliminated efficiently from the body, longer periods of micropulsing should not pose a problem. Drinking water helps flush the toxic wastes from your body. Drinking a glass of ozonated water before and after pulsing may be even more beneficial.

In case you're wondering, it takes only a few minutes for blood to circulate 'round trip' throughout the body. Pulsing for a minimum of 2 hours per day should provide a thorough treatment.

For usage guidelines, please read the Guide to Using the Beck Protocol. You'll find suggestions for initial and ongoing use, tips for serious illness, and more.

What is electroporation/transfection and should I be concerned?

The idea of electroporation (sometimes called "transfection", which isn't quite the same thing) has taken on a life of its own.

By definition, electroporation is a transfection method that uses an electrical pulse to create temporary pores in cell membranes, through which substances can pass into the cells. Electroporation is the method, and transfection is the result - transferring material into cells. In fact, transfection is happening all the time; cells open and close pores regularly to take in nutrients and expel waste. Electroporation, however, is more of a 'forced' transfection. It's beyond what occurs naturally.

Here's the real story behind how electroporation became an issue with micropulsing:

Back in the early 1990s, a paper authored by research scientist James C. Weaver was presented to Bob. This paper discussed the idea that electricity could possibly multiply substances in the bloodstream when the electricity is applied to the cells.

There was initial concern that microcurrents might be able to trigger electroporation. For people taking prescriptions or other potentially toxic substances, the concern was that the effect of these substances might get multiplied by the electroporation effect - as cells would open up to absorb more of the substance.

What's often overlooked is that the Weaver study clearly states electroporation takes place at 200 V/cm2 (Volts per centimeter squared). The Beck blood electrifier output is only 7 V/cm2 - not even close to what Weaver states is required. Because of this, electroporation is not an issue with the Beck Protocol.

This technology has been available to the public for over 20 years with no incidents of electroporation due to use of a Beck unit. It's our understanding that when the issue first came up, Bob felt it was best to be cautious and suggested taking the prescription drugs after micropulsing to minimize exposure, and that advice is always something you can take advantage of if you're feeling that's the best course of action for you.

Back to the question - even though thousands of micropulsers have never experienced electroporation over more than two decades of use, nevertheless, electroporation has become something of an urban legend. It is misinformation. Electroporation and/or transfection is NOT an issue when using any of the Beck units.

Do I have to be on a special diet when micropulsing? What about food supplements or herbs - are those okay?

No special diet required! This doesn't mean, of course, that good, common sense nutrition should be ignored. Far from it. Provide your body with quality 'fuel' and you will be rewarded with a body that heals faster.

Supplements and herbs are an individual choice, perhaps in consultation with a natural health practitioner. There are no prohibitions when micropulsing and consuming food supplements or herbs.

Part of taking back our power is taking responsibility for learning about our bodies and familiarizing ourselves with what's "normal" and what's not, so it's possible to recognize when adjustments need to be made. The Beck Units are amazing tools, but to optimize results, we each have to develop a customized plan according to what works best for us. If you're adding supplements or herbs, start slowly and watch to see how you're doing. Even in the unlikely event of an unforeseen individual reaction, you will be on top of it and be able to make adjustments to your plan.

Why did Bob say we shouldn't eat garlic when micropulsing? Can't I eat garlic anymore?

During his research back in the 1980s on the electrical activity of the brain, Bob noticed that his subject's EEG readings were different after lunch and folks were not as alert.

Naturally curious, Bob investigated, and found the common denominator was the salad dressing, which happened to contain garlic. Based on his observations and previous research on the properties of garlic, Bob believed that garlic was not healthy for the brain.

Poor garlic. This was a case of being in the wrong place, at the wrong time. There may be the isolated case where someone with particular sensitivities reacts by experiencing 'brain fog', but this 'fog' has nothing to do with micropulsing.

Happily, most people can continue to enjoy garlic whether they're micropulsing or not. It's not a factor.

Can I apply the micropulsing unit if I am taking a prescription drug?

Yes...well, probably. For most people, prescription medication can be taken when using the Beck units - no problem. Two individuals let us know they applied micropulsing during chemotherapy"¦they both felt there were no toxic effects and they experienced only beneficial results.

Just keep in mind there are literally thousands of prescription drugs available, with new ones becoming available all the time.

When adding something new like a prescription drug to your routine, start out slowly by micropulsing for shorter periods of time at first, and pay particular attention to how things go. It is remotely possible there may be unforeseen issues - even altering or nullifying the effect of the prescription - so it's prudent to be especially tuned in and aware of how you are responding.

Another tip – Bob always suggested taking medications immediately after the micropulsing session, so the body will have time to process and absorb the medication before the next micropulsing session. The thought was that by doing this it would ensure the lowest level of medication in the blood when micropulsing – which would minimize any reaction, should there be one.

If you decide to use the Beck unit while taking a prescription drug, you are your own best advocate. Again, the beauty of the Beck units is in the ability to customize a usage plan that fits you. You do not have to comply with a single plan used by the masses.

What is the significance of the 4 Hertz in the blood electrifier?

When Bob was developing the blood electrifier, he recognized two concepts were critical to the electrifier functioning as he envisioned. First, he knew he'd need to use a frequency, as it would prevent ion migration (electrophoresis). Second, that frequency would have to be low enough to effectively deliver the microcurrents into the bloodstream.

But which frequency?

Bob knew the natural frequency of the Earth has a healthy effect. That frequency, also known as the Schumann frequency, is 7.83 Hz. To meet the second criteria of being low enough to deliver the microcurrents, Bob chose an harmonic (1/2) of the Earth frequency, 3.92 Hz.

Problem solved.

What is the difference between the Beck micropulsing unit and the Clark Zapper or the Rife Machine?

Each unit has its own purpose and way of working.

Both the Clark Zapper and the Rife Machine are frequency-based units. The Clark Zapper outputs a specific frequency of 30,000 cycles per second (Hz), and the Rife Machine, allows the user to choose a specific frequency. The concept behind the Clark Zapper and Rife Machine is that specific pathogens can be killed with exposure to select frequencies.

In contrast, the Beck blood electrifier (sometimes called the Beck Zapper) delivers microcurrents to the body which help it to heal itself. The microcurrents require a frequency for delivery to the body, which is done using a 3.92 Hz frequency.

So here's what to remember:

The healing modality in the Beck blood electrifier is through the delivery of microcurrents.

The healing modality in the Clark Zapper or Rife Machine is through the delivery of a specific frequencies.

The skin on my wrist is irritated after micropulsing. Is that normal?

This is a common reaction for those new to micropulsing. Gradually, as your skin becomes used to the process, the irritation for many decreases and diminishes over time. With permission, we've borrowed a list of suggestions from SOTA Instruments. It's a comprehensive list and should assist those who experience sensitivity. Refer to their list for the most up-to-date description:

When using the Micropulsing electrodes the skin may become irritated. Over time, the irritation usually decreases. With longer periods of continuous use, skin irritation is more likely.

Alternate wrists each day. One day use the right wrist and the next day use the left wrist in order to allow the skin to heal. Here are a few additional suggestions:

  • Wash wrists before applying the electrodes. Our skin has natural oils that can interact with the electricity which may result in a "stinging" sensation.
  • Wet the sleeves using purified water or with Ionic~Colloidal Silver. Ionic~Colloidal Silver has a healing effect.
  • If unable to feel the current using only water, try a commercial saline solution for the eyes. This will be gentler on the skin than adding salt to the water.
  • A conductive gel can be added to the wet sleeves to reduce irritation.
  • Another option is to wrap a small square of paper towel around the electrodes instead of using the cotton sleeves. A customer passed this idea along from her health practitioner. Keep the paper wet. We find it works well and a small square of paper may last for several applications.
  • Wash wrists well after each session and apply a healing gel or lotion such as aloe vera, vitamin E oil or MSM cream.
  • Drink enough water to keep the body well hydrated. Your degree of hydration may affect your sensitivity.
  • Apply the Micropulsing electrodes for shorter periods of time until the irritation disappears.
  • Turn down the intensity.
Can I use my magnetic pulser at the same time as the blood electrification unit?

Please remember to drink lots of water (ozonated water is a great idea before and after micropulsing and magnetic pulsing!) to help the body flush out those toxins.

If you haven't already, be sure to see the Guide to Using the Beck Protocol for usage tips.

Is it safe to do magnetic pulsing on more sensitive areas like the genitals, eyes, brain?

Yes. Generally, magnetic pulsing can be used anywhere on the body, head to toe. We don't advise using in special situations like pregnancy, pacemakers, or with certain implants. Please check with the manufacturer; such situations are often contraindicated and you'll want to do your homework before proceeding.

Does magnetic pulsing have an effect on nerve pain or neuropathy?

While almost all testimonials indicate that pulsed magnetic fields are particularly effective for pain relief, we've received and posted a few testimonials indicating the use of a pulsed magnetic field increased nerve pain. In the case of L.W. in the United States, despite increased pain,

Something deep down compelled me to continue to stick with the magnetic pulser, and so I pushed through that pain. ...
Much to my delight, after about a month of the pain getting worse, I started noticing a substantial decrease in pain. It subsided gradually but consistently over the course of a few weeks to a point where I started totally forgetting the pain!

While medical science does not have a specific cause for pain from nerve damage or from neuropathy which is considered permanent, we discovered that the books by Anthony William, state the cause. Anthony William pinpoints a virus as the cause of today's chronic diseases or mystery illnesses as he calls them—including nerve inflammation. He also indicates there has been a "viral explosion" which accounts for the increase in chronic diseases. More specifically, he pinpoints the shingles virus, a member of the Herpes virus family as the cause of Neuropathy:

Neuropathy is not a complication of diabetes, it's a result of the shingles virus inflaming the nerves of extremities like the feet. I have called this condition Neuralgic Shingles and shared the truth about it in my book Medical Medium. When someone is experiencing nerve problems in the form of gum pain, jaw pain, or strange sensations, they might be diagnosed with neuralgia, which is also caused by the shingles virus. ( www.medicalmedium.com/blog/healing-your-neurological-system )

This gives a plausible explanation as to why the application of a pulsed magnetic field increased pain—the resulting microcurrents and increase in oxygen begin to strengthen the immune system. When our immune system targets the virus an increase in symptoms can occur. While the Medical Medium provides information about foods and herbs to eradicate the virus, a wealth of feedback on the use of the Beck Protocol, which includes magnetic pulsing, indicates it helps the body deal with a broad range of illnesses, including viral conditions.

In addition, our Science page has posted breakthrough medical research that indicates the Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) is the cause of seven chronic diseases.

How many "pulses" should I do with the magnetic pulser before I change its position?

This is entirely up to you - there is no right or wrong number of pulses. A starting point for doing an all-over body treatment, e.g. lymph glands, one could "pulse" 5 to 10 times before moving to the next location. You can choose a certain number of minutes, or even an entire session (approximately 20 minutes) can be focused on a certain area. Remember you have the freedom to adjust and use the unit as it feels right for you. It all depends upon what your goal is - do you have a certain area in your body that needs special attention or are you looking for an overall pick-me-up?

How much ionic colloidal silver should be taken daily?

Short Answer: If taking ionic colloidal silver on a regular basis over a long time, 1 - 2 ounces (30 - 60 ml) per day is sufficient. Some choose to take several ounces, several times per day for several weeks or months. When drinking a larger quantity of ionic colloidal silver, it is best to sip in smaller amounts throughout the day, rather than one large dose. This will aid the body to more effectively use the ionic colloidal silver.

Digging Deeper: As with any supplement used for an extended length of time, it is wise to take breaks. Two authors offer more precise suggestions based on their research: "In 1940 and 1966, respectively, R.A. Kehoe and I.H. Tipton reported that under normal circumstances the average daily diet will yield approximately 50 mcg to 100 mcg of silver." (Colloidal Silver by Zane Baranowski)

One teaspoon (5 ml) of 5 PPM contains about 25 mcg of silver. That means about 1 ounce or 30 ml (6 teaspoons) contains about 150 mcg of silver. This is ample considering the amounts suggested by Kehoe and Tipton.

Based on the Kehoe and Tipton research, another author suggests drinking a cautious amount daily. He suggests at 5 PPM, ~50 mcg (2 teaspoons or 10 ml) to 100 mcg (4 teaspoons or 20 ml) is a "nutritional" daily quantity and any amount above that be considered a "therapeutic" quantity. In some circumstances, a therapeutic amount may be preferred for a period of time. ("A Closer Look At Colloidal Silver" by Peter A. Lindemann) Note: This answer is copied from www.sota.com as we feel it is the most comprehensive answer.

Is ionic silver more beneficial to the body than colloidal silver?

We believe both ionic silver and colloidal silver can be beneficial, and both forms can be readily absorbed.

Of the two, ionic silver has the smaller particle size. When making your own solution at home using the constant current process, the result is largely ionic. It is easy, convenient, and very inexpensive.

There are several options available commercially. Most are largely ionic and very few are colloidal. To make a true colloidal silver, a more expensive, controlled commercial process is required to ensure a small enough particle size.

Does drinking ionic colloidal silver kill friendly bacteria in the gut?

If you've already investigated this question, you know there is a wide spectrum of opinions on the topic. The best answer for you may probably be your bowel movements - yes, seriously! The presence of friendly bacteria promotes regular and healthy bowel movements. If there is a change, it may mean a need to supplement with a probiotic (friendly bacteria) from your local health food store and/or take a break from drinking ionic colloidal silver. Keep in mind, in the early stages of taking ionic colloidal silver, you may experience bowel irregularities due to detoxification effects.

One strategy to keep in mind: When held in the mouth for about 30 seconds, the silver is primarily absorbed directly through the tissues into the bloodstream, so it does not enter the intestines and avoids contact with the friendly bacteria.

We've also read that even after swallowing, most of the ionic silver is absorbed before it reaches the lower areas of the intestines.

How effective is home-made ionic colloidal silver?

Our personal experience and collective feedback is that homemade ionic colloidal silver is convenient, inexpensive, and effective in a wide range of applications.

Do I risk argyria by regularly drinking ionic colloidal silver?

It is very unlikely that anyone preparing and ingesting ionic colloidal silver according to our guidelines, will develop argyria. Very unlikely.

Argyria is very rare. To put the rare risk of argyria in perspective, we feature the experiences of three individuals who developed argyria in The Scoop on Argyria and a program that may reverse argyria.

I saw Bob Beck making ionic colloidal silver with tap water. Is this how it is done?

No. Tap water is usually chlorinated, and the resulting chemical reaction leads to larger particle sizes as well as silver chloride which is not as biocompatible as pure ionic colloidal silver. It is best to use distilled water. Of all easily-obtained water sources, distilled water has the least amount of chemicals, minerals, and other impurities.

Digging Deeper: Bob's early ionic colloidal silver demonstrations used tap water, as it was quickly and easily observable by the audience. When preparing your own solution at home, use distilled water. Additives like minerals and chemicals can cause the formation of unintended compounds that may or may not be safe, as well as a larger particle size that won't be easily absorbed.

How do I make ionic colloidal silver (ICS)?

There are three methods to preparing homemade ionic colloidal silver, depending on the type of silver-making unit you're using. Of the three methods, we recommend the Constant Current method. It's the simplest process, and produces the most consistent quality. For an overview on each method, please refer to our ICS Method Comparison Chart.

Do I have to use distilled water?

Distilled water is the best choice to produce quality homemade ionic colloidal silver. Other forms of water may contain minerals or chemicals that will react with the ionic silver, forming unintended compounds and/or producint larger particle sizes of silver, making it harder to absorb and eliminate.

In emergencies and for short-term use, other water sources can be used like tap water, reverse osmosis, filtered water and bottled water (look for zero or low-salt).

Distilled water is inexpensive and readily available in North America. In other countries, one needs to be more resourceful. Check with pharmacies and medical supply stores. Distilled water is used in a variety of non-medical industries, as well. Be creative in your searches, but verify what you find is suitable for human consumption. There are also a range of water distillers for sale that allow one to produce your own distilled water at home.

Can I ozonate ionic colloidal silver?

No. It is not recommended to ozonate a silver solution as the ozone may oxidize the silver rendering it ineffective.

Can I drink ionic colloidal silver and ozonated water together? Can I ozonate ionic colloidal silver?

No. While we understand the inclination to combine two awesome items into one super awesome item, this just isn't a good idea. Ozonating a silver solution may oxidize the silver, rendering it ineffective. Best to keep the two separate. We suggest drinking ozonated water first, waiting 30 minutes or more, and then following up with the ionic colloidal silver. This way you'll reap the full benefits of each.

Can I make my own water ozonator?

Absolutely! The Bob Beck Legacy Association has the honor of being the caretaker of Bob's last effects and original instructions. As Bob would have wanted, we are happy to share the schematics with those who send a request to info at bobbeck.com.

Keep in mind; the original specs suggest purchasing the parts from a fish and aquarium supply store, which will likely make it more expensive to build your own unit than purchasing a ready-made water ozonator. Bob's water ozonator inspired quite a market; you'll find many ambient-air models available at a variety of price points. Calculate the cost of parts and your time and then compare with ready-made units (along with warranty, customer service, etc.).

How much ozonated water should I drink per day?

It is best to start slowly with a ½ glass to start to see if you have any reactions. Then gradually build up to 2 to 3 glasses per day. Something to remember - it is best to avoid drinking ozonated water just before or after a meal because the ozone may interfere with digestion.

For usage guidelines, please see the Guide to Using the Beck Protocol. You'll find suggestions for initial use and ongoing use, tips for serious illness, and more.

Can I replace all my drinking water with ozonated water?

Maybe. We don't have any evidence of harm by doing this, but to be honest, we don't feel drinking ozonated water every day for long periods of time would be ideal for the body...for most people, moderation is likely a better choice. In our Guide to Using the Beck Protocol, we recommend 2-3 eight-ounce glasses daily. You'll also find suggestions for initial and ongoing use, recommendations, tips for serious illness, and more.

Do I need to use distilled water for ozonated drinking water?

No. You can ozonate any drinking water. However, if you do ozonate distilled water, you will have a higher level of ozone in the water as distilled water has very little impurities allowing the water to retain more of the ozone. Chilled water also retains more ozone, however chilled water may not be the best solution for the stomach as some cultures believe it takes energy away from the stomach as the water uses energy to become body temperature. [Editor's note: Distilled Water is the recommendation for ionic colloidal silver.]

Is the Brain Tuner both a CES and a TENS unit?

Yes! The Brain Tuner uses the same technology as Cranial Electrical Stimulation (CES). Bob Beck said that it could also be used anywhere on the body as a TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) unit. In fact, if you have the ear-clip electrodes, you can easily convert to using disposable conductive pads, which are available at any medical supply store, and use the Brain Tuner as a TENS unit.

Keep in mind - the Brain Tuner is unique in that it's a CES unit that can also be used as a TENS unit, but that isn't the case with every unit on the market. Bob made it clear that TENS units should not be used as CES devices as the outputs are different.

What diseases does the Brain Tuner cure?

Actually, your body is curing and healing itself. The Beck units are tools that assist and enable that healing to move forward. The best source for specific examples is to hear from fellow readers who have reached out and shared their personal stories and experiences. These Testimonials are inspiring...and very, truly human. Testimonials indicate some individuals have been helped to overcome and/or manage minor to serious emotional health challenges, improve memory and even assist in overcoming addictions, among other uses.

Can children use the Brain Tuner?

Keep in mind, a child's brain is still developing and we do not know what effect harmonic frequencies have on the developing brain. As a parent, you are the one that needs to make this call. Theoretically, children can use the Brain Tuner. Even though they are younger and smaller, their bodies are still electrically-based just as an adult body is, and they can experience benefit, too. If you choose to try using the Brain Tuner, remember the instructions were originally developed for adults and may need to be adjusted for the smaller body of a child.

Does the Brain Tuner have an effect on tinnitus?

Historically there has been no caution about using the Brain Tuner (Cranial Electro Stimulation (CES)) with tinnitus. It puzzled us when we heard more recent, yet rare, reports that the Bio Tuner (formerly Brain Tuner) had aggravated tinnitus.

Medical Science does not know the cause of tinnitus but it has correlated the problem with a number of conditions. When we discovered that the books by Anthony William, actually state the cause of tinnitus, we gained some clarity on the rare and more recent instances of aggravation.

Anthony William pinpoints a virus as the cause of today's chronic diseases or mystery illnesses as he calls them—including tinnitus. He also indicates there has been a "viral explosion" which accounts for the increase in chronic diseases. More specifically, he pinpoints the Epstein Barr virus (EBV), a member of the Herpes virus family as a common cause of tinnitus:

Tinnitus, or ringing in the ear, is usually caused by EBV getting into the inner ear’s nerve channel, called the labyrinth. The ringing is the result of the virus inflaming and vibrating the labyrinth and the vestibulocochlear nerve. (Medical Medium, Anthony William, 2015)

This gives a plausible explanation as to why using the Brain Tuner may increase tinnitus for some people. The beneficial frequencies & microcurrents would begin to strengthen the immune system. When the immune system targets the virus an increase in symptoms can occur. While the Medical Medium provides information about foods and herbs that eradicate the virus, a wealth of feedback on the use of the Beck Protocol indicates it helps the body deal with a broad range of illnesses, including viral conditions.

In addition, our Science page has posted breakthrough medical research that indicates the Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) is the cause of seven chronic diseases.

What is the significance of the Schumann or Earth frequency?

The original Brain Tuner had one mode, but Bob was concerned if only one mode was used for long periods of time (e.g., more than a month), the brain might become acclimatized to that mode and benefits might decrease. As a result, Bob added two modes in the 550 uS (micro-second) pulse width to prevent brain acclimatization and three additional modes at a pulse width of 220 uS because of associated endorphin production. Two of the six modes added were established at the Earth (Schumann) frequency of 7.83 Hz. Bob knew the Earth frequency has a healthy effect on the body (and what could be better than resonating with Mother Earth?).

Can the Brain Tuner be used with the other Beck units?

Yes. You can use one or all of the Beck units. Bob developed the Brain Tuner several years before the Beck Protocol, but all the Beck units support and complement each other. The three Protocol units work hand-in-hand in supporting the body to heal itself, while the Brain Tuner supports healing in terms of the mind-body connection.

The Beck units also function independently, so whether you start with one, two, or more units - give yourself credit for getting started on the road to healing. Good health is often thought of as a gift, but perhaps it's really a result of focus and assembling the right "team" to support your goals.

Some electricity is considered harmful. Why is the Brain Tuner beneficial?

The Beck units are designed to work with the body's natural electricity so the body can work on healing itself. Keep in mind the Brain Tuner delivers gentle harmonic frequencies that are biocompatible with the body.

In comparison, exposure to high voltage transformers and power lines can have harmful effects. They are very intense and can be disruptive to the body.
